I bought the car through work, in 1987. I work for General Motors at the Milford Proving Grounds and at the time the car was for sale, it was a year old but still "Brand New" so I got the maximum discount.
The second year I had the car I put it in storage becuase I had "company" cars to drive. That lasted for seven years and then they took away my company cars so I had to bring out the Buick. It has seen many very hard winters up here in Michigan but I tried to keep the salt off of it the best I could. It was my "Main Ride". Four years ago I bought a new truck so I garaged the Buick. I've been tinkering with it since.
Nothing major, but little stuff. The motor has never been out of it . Everything is orginal on the motor except for the water pump and alternator. I changed the Induction sytem a little and made my own "Proms" for the computor.
I like chrome, I think it adds alot of "Class" to an allready classy car, so you were right in deducting about the door handles and the front bezels. I have a set of rear crome bezels but haven't put them on yet. I am keeping all of the original parts in case someday I might want to part with the car but right now thats not even an issue.
