Intake Modification of 1991 Chevy S-10 Pickup

Traditionally the air intake goes thought a small hole in the radiator support, thought a small snorkel, around the filter, then down the Throttle body...well, why not remove a couple of those steps.  An old carburator trick, just place some sort of plate over the filter that opens up the air filter so that the snorkel is bypassed.  It's nice because 1. It's slightly louder and 2. Allows the K&N to flow well.  The downside is allowing hotter engine compartment air into the intake, but for the summer (in the winter she needs heated intake air for idle quality) it works great.  While usually you can just flip the air cleaner cover over, we have clearence issues with the hood.  I've used an old reality sign cut into a circle...
